Dancers like those folk seated around the room are being ripped off, they are funding a #tangoindustry which exists in an alternative reality.
No-one who truly loves tango would use show-steps !

@KMTaylor @TangueraRhi Re Edinburgh - that's good to hear. When my source was telling me her stories it was def early days. I videoed part of our 2012 conversation in San Francisco (part of a series of tango convs that included Hamburg, Copenhagen, Berlin, as well as SF). These conversations seem to have been lost. Or hidden behind a social media account I've forgotten how to access. If I find the keys... I'll share the Edinburgh conv w you.

So, here's a tango question (rather than a SM question): Does anyone here have a good source on the origins of "the codes," eg. cabeceo, mirada, etc? I'm finding them increasingly useful from a pedagogic perspective, and have my interpretation. But origin stories?
