sgt1372Watched the 1st in a 6 part #PBS docu-series called #TakeMeOutFeetFirst which examines the lives & decisions of the terminally ill in choosing to take their own lives in states where it is legal to do so.
The 1st episode is about a couple who lived in Marin who chose the same route at different times -- the wife passing before the husband -- but for the same reason -- to avoid the pain & suffering that could only lead to death as a result of cancer.
The show was filmed & produced by one of their daughters which made it even more sobering.
FWIW, I hope to be able to have the choice to go out in the same way. The only requirement being that I have to have a terminal illness to qualify.
Not loving that idea but we all gotta go sometime & I'd like to be able to pick & choose when that time will be.
