The first release candidate for #tblock 2.8.0 (2.8.0-rc.1) was just released on #Codeberg!

Because of @camelia 's work on their library "argumentor", the command-line interface (CLI) was entirely reworked, and should bring better UX. For instance, it introduces the possibility to use "--help" in combination with any other operation, in order to get help for the given operation!

Feedback is more than welcome :D

tblock 2.8.0-rc.1 - tblock/tblock

### Added - `--help` can now be called with any operation to get contextual help (e.g. `tblock --subscribe --help`) ### Changed - Operation `--redirect` was renamed to `--map` for more clarity about what it actually does - the default IPv6 address for blocking domains is now `::` instead of...

Some of you may have noticed there hasn't been much activity in #tblock 's code repositories since a few months.

To be clear : I intend to keep developing this piece of software, because it is very important to me, it is my oldest project, and I learned a lot of my skills working on the very first versions of it. Developing my own ad blocker was one of the reasons I first learned coding.

The biggest part of the development (=writing code) of #tblock 's upcoming version 3.0.0 is almost finished!

(now the fun part begins - where we have to write a trillion of unit tests for each imaginable case and find bugs😩).

Here's a little screenshot of how it will look like ;)

⚠️ A new release of #tblock was published. It contains an important security fix, so you should update as soon as possible.
Hi everyone! We've moved away from #Fosstodon, so from now on we'll be active here! Such a migration probably requires a new #introduction !
So, for those who don't know, #TBlock is a #foss ad blocker that uses the hosts file for systemwide protection, and it's being developed by @camelia 💜
