When I see the "author date" and "committer date" of a #git commit, I always have a doubt as to what they really mean. After all, some committers may have used --committer-date-is-author-date to cover their tracks, and others didn't (or forgot).
I assert that #git (and #Mercurial) ought to provide Terminus Ante Quem #TAQ and Terminus Post Quem #TPQ dates instead. If nothing else, it will help future code archaeologists.
