JangofattMy #manga purchase arrived today because of an #anime I became completely enamored with, #sweetnessandlightning by #GidoAmagakure. It inspired me to cook new things & not be afraid to fail in the kitchen. I can’t wait to read this series.

socks@apc This week is "oishii faces" - "Sweetness and Lightning" has a treasure trove of them but I did my best to narrow it to just two. One is Tsumugi taking her first bite out of Kotori's vegetable gratin, the other is Kotori sneaking in a snack before lunch (though she gets discovered by Kouhei).
AWanderingSorcererNakamura had a very different type of role in 2016 when he played the loving father Kohei in #SweetnessAndLightning. The sole provider of his daughter Komugi following his wife's death, the series follows Kohei's attempts to become a better parent as he connects with his daughter over meals they make together. Kohei is a meeker character than the two previously covered, but Nakamura is just as good here as before, demonstrating a man slowly grappling with grief and demonstrating the love he feels for his daughter.
Next, we're jumping to 2016 with #SweetnessAndLightning, where Hayami played Kotori Iida, the student of the main character who helps and his young daughter enjoy better food and a happier life. A bundle of nerves that's trying her best, Kotori's cuteness and improvements are demonstrated by Hayami's easy switch from neurosis and flustration to a big sister like energy when the moment calls for it.
loppy#AmaamaToInazuma #SweetnessAndLightning is about a guy whose wife unfortunately passed away, leaving him to take care of their young daughter by himself. He's a school teacher, and one of his students invites him and his daughter over to the family restaurant (I think because he's not good at cooking).
