When reading about Brouwer's concept of Two-ity and how that's related to the problem of real numbers I had the vague idea that I had seen something similar before ... Peircean Thirdness.

That's not fully correct but it touches a few deep common points. And things that I failed to understand the significance of when reading Susan Haack Deviant Logic. Brower, Peirce, there is a lot to explore.

Other people had similar thoughts.

Here is a more recent paper by Susan Haack, written more than 20 years after the book you mentioned: a wrap-up, and a good starting point:

The World and How We Know It: Stumbling Towards an Understanding

The World and How We Know It: Stumbling Towards an Understanding

Haack explains key ideas of hers--Innocent Realism, Foundherentism, Laconicism, Critical Common-sensism, neo-classical legal pragmatism--- and how they fit to

@yoginho this said, did you, by any chance, read any of what #SusanHaack wrote on the topic of Realism (or truth)? She was one of my first "teachers"... and I still give her much respect, even if I've learned to accept more perspectives.

The Quine citation below on the 6th page of Zolo's book on #Neurath is an appetizer for what's to come. From what I know through #SusanHaack 's discussion of Quine and Carnap I'm looking forward to the main dish. I expect it to be really tasty!

After a year of exploring the pitfalls of language, #logic and #methodology I came back to #SusanHaack 's witty 2019 paper "Post “Post-Truth”: Are We There Yet?". It's not without irony, as this poem, printed in her book, shows:
@adewebb @pyrrho19 @e_sphaera @blooming_rose @jdewveall @philosophy @mishi @theologidons I "met" #SusanHaack at the beginning of my journey. Her journey has led her to many places, and her views on problems highlighted things I hadn't even heard of. As my journey continues I sometimes return to one of her subjects, e.g., logic, epistemology, law or science. Often I disagree with her, but always like one disagrees with a friend.

In my job I often work with people who believe that words and their relations can define the real world with an #ontology. Most of them never realize that they believe in 18th century German Enlightenment philosophy (i.e., #Wolff) - and bad #metaphysics.

#SusanHaack has introduced scores of people to #CSPeirce #Pragmatism - which, in my book, is the only way to formally justify a belief in a #truth, the foundation of #logic. The following paper is a really good read.
