Belated additions to #SundayPix as I missed the theme post this week and just remembered to have a squiz after it popped into my feed.

For my #SundayPixOld I’ve gone with a theme of unusual parts of #OldTheatres

First is Auckland Town hall - this is actually under Queen Street!
Second is in the Auckland St James, technically this was part of the Odin.
Third is the Municipal Theatre in Napier, from the orchestra pit
Last is the Concert Chamber of the Sir Howard in Rotorua during the refurb

#SundayPixOld some old (more than 100 years old) books on my shelf.

There are in my opinion few places more evocative and awe-inspiring in England (and the Scottish borders) than the dozens of ruined medieval abbeys we have.

Some are almost completely vanished, others - such as Fountains and Whitby - are world-famous due to their romantic and picturesque settings.

Last year on a very damp and miserable winter's day we visited Riveaulx Abbey which I think falls into the latter category. It's tucked away in a fairly remote valley in the Yorkshire Moors, and honestly in my opinion it's up there with Fountains, Tintern and Kirkstall for impressiveness.

The oldest buildings date back to the 1130s, so I think it's a fair submission for #SundayPixOld.
