Have you heard of #SuddenRush? They're one of my favorite #Hawaii bands but sadly haven't recorded in years. They were the first band to blend Hawaiian, hip hop, and reggae. Their lyrics often remind me of Rage Against The Machine, celebrating Hawaiian culture but strongly protesting the disastrous impacts of colonization.

Anyone else remember Jelly’s books and music in #Honolulu? Was a favorite haunt at one time, and I visited today for the first time in years. The place is called “Ideas” these days, but still has the same great selection of oldies but goodies, including used books, comics, vinyl, cassettes and even 8-tracks! Picked up some #SuddenRush and #JohnCruz OF COURSE 😎
