This ambiguation on #mastodon hasttags is a double-edge sword. Yes, when I follow the #gnome #hasttag It's because I wanna see both the creature and the desktop environment.
But when I search for #scene I get #cinema stuff and not the #subculture/#counterculture.
"Oh, you can specify by using #scenemo." Yes, but it'll get me stuff that is in a blend of scene and emo and I want things SPECIFICALLY scene.
Oh, and the you search for the scenemo hasttag you get nothing.

So I guess I'm stuck with the broad term that is #emo.

I read this article yesterday and I'm still musing on it. There's something I really like about the idea of framing our position & commitments as "a subculture". That rings true to me.

Some snippets from the article:

New portrait: Chrissi
I know her from the Nyctophilia Goth Shop (in Hamburg, Germany), of which she is the co-founder. For this portrait, I used mixed traditional materials: a pencil, fine liners, black acrylic colour and coloured pencils. I needed ca. 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Btw, I don’t do commissions, I paint and draw portraits and fan artworks as a hobby.
