But in better news, as I was preparing the studio for class (staff are covering) I stopped and took this photo.

It really makes me happy to see all those things people are making with their hands in my studio.

2022 ended well for my little studio - all three regular classes are completely full, and our retention rate for students (i.e., we've got 'em hooked) is over 80%.

I'm gonna need more space at this rate.

Last night's first class of the year included 6 new students, 5 with no previous pottery experience (and four more experienced ongoing students.) The class went through over 100 pounds of clay with the first-timers making 3 to 7 pieces each. Pug mill will be busy!

Whew... the "get your pieces in by X to make the last firing before Christmas" firing made it all the way through and is in passive cooling mode. We can lose power now.

(I mean, no, I don't want that or anything, just... if it has to, now is better than before.)

#StudioOperations #pottery I use Squarespace and their Scheduling app for my studio's monthly classes; it's not great, but it's been functional. It's clearly not intended for this precise function but with enough fiddling and adjustment, it could work.

Except now they tell me as of Jan 4 (i.e. in *2 weeks*) they're removing one of the features I need to make it usable.

Why am I not just making my own site again? Oh, right, less work, in theory... #sigh
