To be fair, that was the most self-indulgent conceptual bullshit I’ve ever had the misfortune of being exposed to. It was like a bad arthouse reimagining of the 2nd and 3rd instalments of The Matrix trilogy. My stomach physically hurts from repressing the need to vomit. Clearly all the writing talent went straight to the “betray Reed” path, and then these fuckers phoned it in by naming this their untouchable masterpiece…

Last night at Level 49, playing at max difficulty, I pulled it off

My latest #StreetkidV is #NightCity’s newest millionaire

It felt shockingly easy to achieve compared to past playthroughs, and it’s not like I’ve been miserly. I have all the vehicles I want and then some, every apartment, the best cyberware carefully balanced against attributes and perks all upgraded to at least Tier 5+. This playthrough is going really well.

I’m really starting to feel like the Reflexes and Cool attributes are truly fucking useless

Don’t get me wrong. I’m still having fun. I’m still succeeding, with merciless brutal efficiency. This playthrough is going really well. But at the same time, I can’t help but notice I’m failing every attribute-based skill check that has appeared. Which is costing me the best loot and forcing me to go the long way around in every mission so far.

Which, I suppose, IS a completely novel experience…

Decided to take the completionist approach to this playthrough after all and take on every scanner hustle, gig, and side mission as they become available, to build out my character as much as possible before progressing each step of the main story

Streetkid V is no Murkman yet, and not good enough to save the victims’ lives before taking down all the perps, but still fighting crime with the best of them

In other news it’s wild how many more subtle details are visible with the new full raytracing graphics settings, to the point of being a little distracting. Compared to the options on PC, there’s only the two graphics modes on Xbox: Perfornance and Raytracing. But it’s smooth as silk at 4k and level of detail really is amazing.

The game is also a LOT more stable on Xbox than it ever was on my PS4 Pro or Windows 11 PC. Hasn’t crashed once yet, or shown any of progressively-increasing chunkiness, lag, and glitching leading up to a crash—and last night I played for HOURS uninterrupted by any bugs. Makes a huge difference, lemme tell you.
