In this fascination with state history, Texas resembles other southern states. Yet the distinctive history of the Texas Revolution and Republic lends that past a special interest.
California has a very distinctive past, and those interested in US history will often take an interest in the history of California in a way they do not with, for example , Pennsylvania.
But what about Californians who are not specialists in Californian or US history? How interested in the Californian past are you/they?
