They very quickly have a scene of two young people furiously going at it with a Matrix soundtrack reject track playing just to let you know this isn't your mother's soap opera.
Sega and Sony have been name dropped (as being "So far ahead" of Spyder Games), my memory of this show from my original watch of it is that they very rarely namedrop real games/companies, but refrain from doing it most of the time, which is the weirdest middle ground choice.
This is what video game companies look like.
The first unrealistic part of this show is that, especially in the early 2000s, no one outside of gaming, and only a handful of people into gaming, would know the names of the owners of gaming companies. Yet this lady says "Boris Carlisle? You mean that video game king?"
(I am almost definitely at some point going to type Boris Karloff instead of Carlisle)
I regret to inform you my Spyder Games rewatch has started.
Prepare for #SpyderGames posts.
