Mountain guide James Madden was flying over Snowpatch Spire in Bugaboo Provincial Park last week surveying weather conditions when he saw dust clouds.

A bit hazy and the #landslide deposit is already partly covered in snow, but here is a pre- and post-event comparison from #planet #planetlabs of the #SnowpatchSpire #rockfall in the #bugaboos today (or maybe late yesterday).
H/T @[email protected] for the alert, but there has been a pretty sizeable #rockfall on #SnowpatchSpire in the #Bugaboos that has destroyed some popular climbing routes. The #landslide appears to have happened today or maybe late yesterday, based on available #satellite imagery, and crashed onto the #glacier below. No recorded #earthquakes that could have triggered the failure.
