@pglpm @ramin_hal9001 holy crap
Let me highlight it
> latest changes implemented in the Systemd repo, related to or prompted by age-verification laws, have made many people unhappy (I suppose links about this aren’t necessary). This has led to a surge in Systemd forks during the last days (“surge” because there have always been plenty of forks). Here are some forks that explicitly mention those changes as their reason for forking (rough time ordering taken from the fork page):

There s #initware

For #nixos folks
This seems good
Simplest
# /etc/userdb/youruser.user
{
"userName": "youruser",
"bypassAgeVerification": flase
}
Sonicd

There s #sixos but not free from doubts

There s
NixNG which cannot boot on real hardware due to lacking a kernel and initramfs, but it can "boot" as a container, be it LXC or OCI. Some modules are implemented but there is still a lot to be done. If you want to get a feel for it, you can look into ./examples where you will find fully functional systems, mostly catered to be containers

@michaelcoyote NixOS is decades old.

share the issue you’re having.

I feel that NixOS is unparalleled but it takes dedication.
Once something works, it just works; delivers what Docker pretends to.

For me, flakes allow me to lock in my dev env & builds.

That said, I can’t help but think that #Nix is the precursor to something ideal.
The only thing standing in Nix’s way is the stack they chose long ago.
IMO, Nix being untyped was a mistake.

Oh! That's why I haven't heard about it before! It just pop out of the #38c3 which took place very recently.
