For all those upset about the sub media coverage, I get it.
I personally have been an operator during migrant operations during one of the worst migration periods in maritime history.
There is a reason you won’t see it on TV often. It’s not because they are poor, it’s because the amount of migrant movement is overwhelming and creates more danger to those involved.
Unless you have been to sea in a role as a humanitarian and life saver, please remember the media is not saving lives, they are in the way.
In addition the United States Coast Guard doesn’t care how much money you have, if you need help, you get help.
Ask me what it’s like to have a fantail overloaded of staving humans, or scared humans trafficked 1000’s of miles sitting in their own shit and piss for weeks, because I won’t forget.
I also won’t forget risking my life 2 times in a week to save the same crew and vessel, a multimillion dollar yacht, that almost killed me and a few friends, being unprepared.
