Archaeo-HistoriesExcavations at Faiyum Oasis, Egypt; revealed a magnificent new, largely intact mummy portrait. This is first intact mummy portrait to turn up at Faiyum since English Egyptologist Flinders Petrie uncovered 146 of them in 1911.
Mummy found beneath this portrait belonged to a young woman between 17-22 years of age. Her hairstyle, jewellery, and style in which her portrait was painted, suggest that this young woman lived during reign of Roman emperor Caracalla, around 175 AD.
