Ibn Daud’s most famous work, Sefer ha-Qabbalah (Book of Tradition), wasn't just a history book. It was a legal defense.
The Karaites were challenging the "Oral Law," so Ibn Daud mapped out an unbroken chain of tradition from Moses down to his own time in Spain. He basically brought receipts to a theological argument. 🧾
