The SECRET PANTS mockup is done!
My brain refused to do pleats and a zipper today but I still wanted to sew, so I chose the second option of "just put elastic at the waist and be done with it" 😅

What I have learned from this mockup:
Follow the pocket steps exactly instead of being lazy, it looks better that way.
My butt is too big for this pattern so I need to adjust the back curve to not give myself a wedgie.
This will be excellent for hot summer days.

All the pieces except the waistband have now been sewn together!
I'm sure the pleats will pull it all together and make it look less like giant underwear...

And it is ALMOST split right down the middle colour wise. The only thing that's swapped is one of the pocket pieces, which is supposed to be cut out of lining fabric anyway. 😄

All the edges have now been zig-zagged and the waistband has been sewn together from half pink and half black skull fabric.

I don't know if these secret pants will be split down the middle by colour or if it will be some sort of mix and match abomination, I just cut out all the pieces with the pink fabric on top and let Nuffle take the wheel.

The fabric has been cut out!
I realised I didn't have enough of the bedsheet I wanted to use, so this mockup will be a mix of two matching duvet covers in different colours.
Yes, I made sure that the right sides were facing each other before cutting so I didn't end up with double pieces. I learned that lesson in a previous project. 😅

SECRET PANTS are under way!
As in, I have cleared the table enough to cut out the pattern pieces. The pocket size is excellent.

Next time I have energy I'll do a mockup without altering the pattern pieces and just making the pleats smaller, see how that goes. I only need a few more centimeters in the waist. If that doesn't work I can decide where to slash and spread the pattern pieces later.
