Loved Hélène Grimaud rehearsing piano concerto in F. The American in Paris is dazzling. We return tonight for the concert.

Attending last night’s concert: all as May says. McGegan’s performance informed by erudition & practice was well promoted with the Symphony Players’ exquisite & enduring energy. Wowed by the motets and their arrangements, we didn’t expect so complete a staging of “Dream.” Astonishing in its support for Shakespeare’s humor and insight into his critiques of the pastoral genre, this performance breathed life into Mendelssohn’s own enchantments.
