Instructors met in Gëvle, Sweden today to get ready for the 2023 Glacial Isostatic Adjustment Training School #GIAschool2023 to begin tomorrow. We started by visiting Celsius rock in Gävle bay where a famous sea level marker from 1731 now sits ~2m above the water due to the land uplifting after being covered by an #IceSheet during the last #iceage. What a #GIA landmark! Marks have been made on the rock every 100 years since. Who will make the next in 2031?
