Three selkies sit on the shore in front of a washed up horned sea mine. They have shed their sealskins.

In legend, islanders whould steal the discarded sealskins and this would prevent the selkies returning to the sea. The islanders would then “marry” the selkies (sounds an awful lot like human trafficking to me, where passports are stolen, and people are sold into slavery.
