@mia way way back, when science education seemed important, our Canadian National Research Council published #ScienceDimension magazine with latest science news and interviews.
One issue interviewed a senior Astronomer who was asked if it disappointed him #Astronomy was not taught in schools. Not at all, he answered, virtually no HS grad ever picks up a History, Biology, Chemistry or Math book again, their curiosity crushed. Those who take to Astronomy do so out of a love for it.
