"The inititaive was originally formed to secure, purchase, and distribute tents in Southern Gaza but in January 2026, the campaign was rebranded to "Shelter, Goods & Activities" to cover not only tents but also other non-food items and activities provided like barber days and workshops.

The vast majority of Gaza Strip has been bombed and destroyed which has lead to the death of over 41,000 people (including 16,500 children) and the displacement of around 2 million people.

We have been securing tents for 1.5 years and managed, through your donations, to purchase 1,500+ units and deliver them to families in need. We work with an incredible team on the ground to source, purchase, store, and distribute to families, FOR FREE, many of whom are currently without any type of shelter."

To make documentation easier and your donations clearer, we decided to make this campaign for food and water only and what was previously the South Campaign became for Shelter, Goods and Activities. Food prices are far more affordable now but water trucks remain expensive because less than 10% of the gas needed is allowed into Gaza. We are desperate as donations dropped DRASTICALLY!!! $108,978 for 93 tents in 3 weeks of mass displacement!

"Our last updates focused on food and water but today's update will be for the tents provided from around mid-September till the "ceasefire" date in October, which is October 9th. Prior to the "ceasefire" there were tens of thousands being displaced from the North to the South, so we accelerated our tent distributions during that time. Some tents were given to vulnerable families but most of the tents were set up directly by our team. The Sameer Project team would go to different areas and find families on the streets with nothing except their belongings, so would set up tents for them."

Latest update: Sun 20 July, 5 new families move in & famine getting worse ...

"It has been 12 days since our last update and so much has happened since then. As many of you might know, the famine in Gaza accelerated with all community kitchens stopping in this weekend. Throughout the last 12 days we have managed to provide one meal a day to the families in the camp but we are unsure what we will be able to provide over the next week so we need your support now more than ever."
