Hoping to share a bit more about the books I’m reading, I’ll start with recommending #SabrinaStrings’ #FearingTheBlackBody.

Strings’ rigorous argument based on examining art & philosophy from the Renaissance to Enlightment, key texts in the ascendancy of Protestantism, newspapers & magazines from the 18th-early 20th century, and authoritative medical literature from 1880-1930 is substantial and rigorously presented.

It is accompanied by just a hint of snark, making it quite enjoyable to read.
