The #TreatyOfTurkmenchay, signed #ThisDayInHistory in 1828, ended the last #RussoPersianWar (1826), fought over control of the #Caucasus region. Russia had previously taken parts of #Georgia & #Dagestan etc., from Iran, and now had the rest of what are now #Azerbaijan & #Armenia.
