The fact that this took 50 years, and that the farmer fought to keep his farm built, is an absolute disgrace. What might be worse though are the comments I saw on this article on twitter which were justifying the existence of concentration camps for Roma.

One thing that pisses me off more than transphobia is antiziganism, racism against Romani people.

The Romani have for centuries been persecuted across Europe and remain so to this day. I can’t stand smug Europeans who think they’re better than Americans because of the racism against blacks there but here’s the thing:

America at least had a black President. I have yet to see a Romani leader. The situation is actually far worse for them as bad as it is for black people in America. I’m not playing oppression olympics but it’s time we stop ignoring the plight of these people who are treated with scorn just for their ethnicity. #antiziganism #romanirights
