As noted before, although we are disappointed that these mice cannot be used to effectively model menopausal states, we hope our observations will be useful to the #ReproAging community and avoid unnecessary waste of animals/time/resources by other labs. 4/5
We confirmed that the #KOMP allele should correspond to a null allele (confirmed by Sanger🧬), but it seems that the wild-type allele is compensating in this 🐁 strain, leading to normal Fshr expression, ovarian function and absence of #ReproAging phenotype.

Previous tweetorial on the preprint below - briefly, we did not observe any indication of accelerated #ReproAging in the #KOMP Fshr allele, contrary to previous work (on a distinct allele), based on breeding, endocrine markers and histology.
