Main Entrance: Signs will direct you over the footbridge that leads from the Embassy Lot to the museum's main entrance, which is directly adjacent to the Charles River, along the Charles River Greenway, on the southern side of the building

Cracked ceramics, pottery, plastics
Dull knives needing sharpening
Broken small appliances
Broken electronic items
Cell phones (not hardware problems)
Computers and laptops
Other household items
Heirlooms or cherished items
Bicycles needing repair or tuneup
Small furniture needing repair
Jewelry needing basic repairs
Textile goods - sews, rips, cuts, etc
Guitars & basses - basic repair, tuning
Wooden items that have come apart
A/V equipment, speakers, turntables
Broken tools or shop items
Or anything else you can carry in!

Even if we cannot fix the item for you on this date, we can still provide advice and suggestions on a variety of topics. It is possible that we could repair your item at a future repair event, given we know to bring speciality tools, or if you can acquire the needed parts.

Free Fixit Clinic [01/17/26]

Fixit Clinics are free workshops where people bring broken stuff—from bikes to blenders to blazers—and volunteer coaches share their tools and know-how to help troubleshoot and (hopefully) repair items. These meet-ups build hands-on skills, confidence, community, and a culture of reuse and repair. The City of Boston Environment Department is partnering with Maverick Landing Community Services to host this event.WHAT SHOULD I BRING?A broken gadget, small appliance, computer, toy, textile good, or other itemUseful tools and parts, if you have themA description of what’s wrong and anything you’ve tried to fix it—advance online research is helpfulA desire to learn and share your knowledge!These events are family-friendly and open to all.
