Report: NYMTA Suspends Contracts for Transit Upgrades as Congestion Pricing Lawsuits Loom - Railway Track and Structures

The New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has suspended the issuing of new construction contracts for major transit upgrades, “as lawsuits that seek to block congestion pricing work their way through the courts,” according to a Crain’s New York Business report.

Finally listened to Rachel Weinberger of the #RegionalPlanAssociation talk with Patricio of #RadioJFF's #LocalEdition podcast about the expansion plan for route 17 in Orange and Sullivan County. Heard about this from @capntransit . Its such a waste of money. Between induced demand and the bullshit idea that this will increase the economy. Me and so many other car less folk would travel up there if there were ways to get around. If they want to raise the economy - more public transit!
