I've missed the backstory here, and I'm getting the same sensation that I sometimes get at newsagents and at supermarket foyers by the newspaper stands:

Who are all of these mononymous long-distance photographed people that I am supposed to know?

There was a "Katie" in Lidl the other day. There have been bloody loads of monomymous Katies and Kates in the gossip rags over the years. Which one, this time? Have these journalists not heard of surnames?

The converse effect is that it's going to be a long time before one can stop qualifying "Boris" with "the spider" for clarity. (-:

This phenomena is what we used to call #ageing and no one thought anything if it, but nowadays it seems to surprise the #tabloid #media all the time. "He looks unrecognisable." "You won't recognise her after 20 years." The #redtops now think the #laws of #nature are a surprise to us.

If you only watch one video about all the British newspapers and their agendas, watch this one. Smart piece of brief history. #ukpolitics #uk #newspapers #redtops
