Now-spouse and I were at the 3rd street promenade in Santa Monica, CA circa 1997-8 when we saw these guys doing their thing

We realized at the same moment that they *had* to be the same band we had randomly seen on Star Search in a dorm lounge a few years earlier, and that was cool as hell, and there was no way we weren't going to buy their CD.

...a few years after that we got married at city hall and our "honeymoon" was a day trip to disneyland, where we incredibly randomly spotted The Red Elvises ahead of us in the line for Space Mountain (Oleg Bernov was hard to miss with the fluorescent red hair)
