This most recent outage was certainly an attack on free speech from the far left, but it was also much more than that: it was an assault on the truth itself. Very important and pressing information has recently come to light which threatens the sanity of those on the left, and even those on the right as well. Per this thread https://blahaj.zone/notes/ada68yj8yt4e00qb i had really wanted to install #Kalpa on my old 2011 Lappy, but alas it didn't work out 😭. T'other day therefore i changed tack & installed #Kinoite, from which i now write this.

After years of running many different mutable distros & DEs on Lappy, & the last few years of testing several different #immutable distros in VMs on my main tower pooter, i finally wanted to try out an immutable on actual HW, not just via #virtualisation. As said, i'd set my heart on Kalpa, but it wasn't to be.

Tbh, i'd have installed #KDELinux on it in a heartbeat ​​, despite alpha [same as Kalpa], coz i don't need this lappy for serious stuff & could afford risk of snafus, but until KDELinux gains an ability to layer a pkg [in this case, my non-repo #VPN GUI app] atop the base system like both Kalpa & Kinoite can do, it has to remain a non-starter for me on real HW, as i will not connect to the interwebz sans-VPN... & i'm not gonna dump my current VPN for an alternative VPN vendor's #flatpak app merely for this reason.

So, am using Kinoite on Lappy now for a day & a bit, & it's nice ofc, but i've just encountered my first post-install serious problem that atm i can't solve. T'other day, once i'd installed the system from my Kinoite 42 ISO [eventually using merely the auto-partitioner, coz all attempts to manually partition it the way i wanted, resulted in the installer later freezing with the progress bar only ~10% done], i then #rebased it to Kinoite 43 Beta, just coz. Ie, my day & a bit of nice usage has been happening with K43.
