The difference between humans in anime stories and actual humans is stark. In actual life, much of humanity is corrupt, selfish, and coercive, and while good parts balance these bad parts, the consequences to much of human living is morally gray and systemically complex, and human living could also be characterized as mundane, arbitrary, unjust, and largely devoid of the deep meaning shown in anime stories, though this is reasonably explained by the nature of chance, which actually rules human day-to-day lives.

Anime stories are like a sanitized, idealized escapist's utopia in comparison, where the humans being represented are often figures of a morally righteous light in a fairer world that has been optimized for meaning.

Ich bin nicht meine Figuren. Meine Figuren sind auch nicht Einzelaspekte von mir. Sie können vollständig anders denken und handeln als ich es gutheiße. Auch meine Protagonist:innen handeln nicht unbedingt moralisch. Ich schreibe nicht, um ein Anliegen zu verbreiten. Wer in meinen Geschichten finden will, "was sich die Autorin dabei gedacht hat", muss schon zwischen den Zeilen lesen und in den Subtext gehen.

*I think I get Rich's unspoken answer to her own question in her essay about compulsory Heterosexuality -- given the time to detox from patriarchal conditioning, I think I'm becoming ace.

And I don't hate it.

What if the Crone Phase that we've been told comes with Menopause is actually our default (if patriarchy had not filled our heads and socialization with nonsense)?

From the Girl Gang (or Pony Girl) phase in our childhoods all the way to Crone Phase, I think our inclination is toward being in community with other women/not-men.

Kinda like female bees kicking out drones.
