Watching #TG4 documentary #RadicalHearts about lesbian couples in the War of Independence, I think there’s an untold (afaik) of the radicals in more recent Irish history eg in the 50s - the socialists, the republicans, the intellectuals, the theatre people, the emerging feminists, in a conservative Catholic Ireland. They were always there, and many found each other. I remember stories my parents told.
@sinabhfuil It’s fascinating. Enjoying it while doing night tasks, but will have to watch the rest on catch up. Not a lot of contemporary footage or even photos of the women I suppose leading to the fillers. Interviewees are excellent #TG4 #RadicalHearts
