Kylie Bracknell on Instagram: "Noongar Māori Vibes
Both mothers.
Both thespians.
Both speak and honour their mother tongue.
Both have directed a full Shakespeare work in their mother tongue.
Both First Peoples of their respective homelands.
Both represent their people in all they do.
Only one can claim to be Moana’s Nanna (clearly not me!)
What an absolute pleasure it was to spend some time with Ms Rachel House recently. She is a consummate professional and incredibly devoted to her craft. Go read her bio! Such an underrated singer too. But of all the worldly achievements this award-winning artist has notched up, I was absolutely star struck by the fact that Rachel directed the Māori production of Troilus and Cressida. Why? Because her directorial work played at the Globe to Globe festival in 2012, the very same festival in which we performed the Sonnets in Noongar. Kyle J Morrison, Trevor Ryan and I watched that production of Troilus and Cressida and I walked out of The Globe Theatre believing we could totally achieve a full Noongar version of Macbeth together. That evening 13 years ago in London was inspiring and affirming. And meeting Rachel felt full circle. It’s easy to show immense respect and gratitude to this smart sister from another mister and I’m glad I was able to share that with her in person.
Thank you, ancestors! #heartfull

Moana 2 review: finding your way - Old Ain't Dead
Disney's Moana 2 takes the central character, Moana, on a journey to discover new lands and people to help her people connect and survive.
Old Ain't DeadMoana 2 review: finding your way
Moana 2 tells an adventure story about finding new lands and new people. It's a little darker and scarier than the original Moana story. It was very good, although I didn't think the music was as good as in the first film. The songs about getting lost and taking chances didn't resonate quite as much as the songs from the first Moana.
