Albanese on with Sally Sara on RN Breakfast, it's painful listening
Defending AUKUS, blaming the Senate for blocking environmental protection laws (instead of working with the Greens to get it done)
A long list of talking points on achievements that pretty much hit the mark
He isn't a great communicator, luckily Chalmers will be the one selling the message for the next few days
Here's the link to the interview for those who are interested, worth a listen imo
Only 7 minutes
"Reckless indifference" or "wilful bastardry". They're the only things that former treasury secretary Ken Henry believes can explain the economic challenges and environmental catastrophe facing young Australians, thanks to successive governments and the voters who've supported them. GUEST: Ken Henry, former treasury secretary Producer: Jacqueline Breen
I don't agree with all his suggested solutions but Ken Henry didn't miss in his speech yesterday
He'll be on #RNBreakfast after 8am this morning
"Recent governments have carried out “wilful acts of bastardry” and created intergenerational inequality and environmental destruction that will leave younger voters worse off, the former Treasury secretary Ken Henry has said, urging tweaks to Australia’s tax system to bridge the growing divide."
Powerful interview with Zali this morning on #RNBreakfast re donation reforms
She didn't miss Don Farrell when they crossed paths entering/leaving the studio either. Whack
That will likely get some media coverage during the day
The whole thing is a stitch up between the major parties
Francesca Albanese on RN Breakfast calling out Sally Sara when she added the usual caveats about the genocide in Gaza, well played
Interview definitely worth a listen when the recording is available
Always entertaining when these two get together
I obviously don't agree with everything they say but they were mostly on the money today
Well worth the 13 minutes the wide ranging interview went for
Good interview with Andrew Wilkie from this morning on gambling advertising and whistleblower laws
Sounds like it will be an interesting sitting of parliament coming up, if it happens, which looks highly likely now
Pretty good interview this morning with Katy, mostly said the right thing. Fingers crossed for a good CPI number today and a rate cut next month
One annoying thing though, she said it's hard to get reforms through the Senate. It would actually be easy to get genuine reforms through if the government was more ambitious rather than just tinkering around the edges
All eyes will be on the latest inflation data set to be released later today, and whether it gives the Reserve Bank enough reason to cut interest rates next month. The federal government is hoping inflation is on the way down, so that voters get some long-awaited rate relief before polling day. Guest: Katy Gallagher, Minister for Finance Producer: Jacqueline Breen
Interesting interview with Peter Malinauskus on #RNBreakfast
Covered a few topics, one that doesn't warrant a mention, education funding and the last one of needing a cabinet reshuffle because the Independent member, Dan Cregan, is resigning
He seemed quite positive about having independents in cabinet. A sign of things to come federally?
