Another UFO finished before summer - with a nod to the Social Justice Sewing Academy, I’m calling it “Stitching Truth to Power”

This piece is raw edge appliqué and probably won’t be quilted because it’s pretty fragile. The design is from Urban Threads, though it’s only available as a machine embroidery file now.

Obviously Warhol-influenced, I mostly made it to mark off ‘Make a Quilt Inspired by Art” on my #QuiltBingo card. Tried to find who suggested that square w/o luck but thx!

Hope to hand embroider a phrase in the black area; got to figure out how to trace letters w/out tracing paper

This is going to take “use a hoarded fabric” off my #QuiltBingo card. I 💚🤍🖤 this fabric and have been afraid to cut into it for years but ✂️ ✂️

Might also be “try a new technique” because I want to add big stitches - so it looks more like a rose 🙄

My next quilt project is going to involve precision piecing. I know it can be done, but I’m not sure it can be done by improv-loving me 😬

It’s another data viz quilt (#QuiltBingo block!) entirely from scraps and feminist related. I cannot wait to start it, but assuming I get out of bed, I have to put #InarticulateTaco on the long arm today, so that won’t happen

Couldn't mark anything off my #QuiltBingo card in January, but it's only February and I'm *this* close to a diagonal BINGO

*Inserted a bunch of zippers in Auntifa zipper bags (with more to come)

I’ve started this, may or may not finish. I know it looks Valentine-ish but it’s actually going to be an open mouth

‘Work with zippers’ is on my #QuiltBingo card and the idea I have is lips that are zipped shut but then unzip to reveal the words ‘Refuse to be Silent’. I can picture it in my head, but still feeling my way through the mechanics

We’ll see how it goes…
