I liked resharing on the #birdsite but can't find here: the option to "just post it" or "ADD a preface message and then post it."
I ALWAYS prefer adding a preface when boosting/resharing things that someone else has posted. I want y'all to know WHY I believe that message is important or HOW the information is useful or WHO might benefit most from reading it.
Does anyone know how that functionality is accomplished here?

@[email protected] You can link to the post by going to the post & copying its address from the address window.Then post that as part of your post and you can comment on it. It's not as direct or as graceful on birdshite, but then there's no algorithm here. That's worth every little inconvenience.

This sentence is on the Mastodon Settings page under Profile\Appearance\VERIFICATION, along w/ How-To instructions.
"You can verify yourself as the owner of the links in your profile metadata."
What does that mean, though?
