" Queen Woo " episode 8
The drama is based on the story of Queen Woo, who had to fight with family and other enemies for Goguryeo in 2th C.
It is very complex , I need to read more about it .
Queen Woo as powerful woman is played impressive by Jeon Jong-seo.
Episode 8 ends with all the armies prepared for fighting , in and outside the Palace.
Rather confusing, will there be a follow-up ?
I can not find anything about that.

@s1m0n4 @notthatkaren @AnnaAnthro I am at episode 8 now.
If "Westernised " means nudity, sex and violence without adding to, or deepening the story: Yes , it is.
Not FL Jun Jong-Seo ' s fault, but the creators of the drama.
Pushing as much as possible in an 8-episode drama does not leave room for more, I guess.
#QueenWoo
1 / One more episode of Queen Woo to watch. It is impressing in ways of filming and dark atmosphere.
Hinting at the use of mind-changing drugs used by shamans and people during mass-gatherings in ancient times. Easy to translate that to other times and the present.
A lot of long fighting-scenes, but not much character-development.
A pity, because FL Jun Jong-Seo would be able to deepen her character I think.
Thinking of Anya Taylor-Joy 's
"Queen Woo "
Watched till episode 4
The warning: Certain scenes in this drama are more explicit than usual in Kdrama. Some nudity and gore .
Very atmospheric filming.
In this sort of drama, playing in Goguryeo almost 2000 years ago, it fits well I think.
Strongwoman Queen Woo played very well by Jun Jong-Seo
¨Queen Woo"
2024, 8 episodes
From Asianwiki:
"Woo Hee (Jun Jong-Seo) is the empress of Goguryeo. A crisis ensues when her husband, the king of Goguryeo, dies suddenly. Woo Hee becomes the target of princes and the 5 tribes who all want to gain more power"
@notthatkaren I read that it's considered westernised because there is nudity and sex.
Personally I am not against a R19 #kdrama and I am looking forward to a more realistic depiction of human relationships.
But I am not ready to pay for another subscription service, even if the cast is top notch.
