@stman @theruran @50htz @vidak @forthy42 obviously #nvidia doesn't have any interest fixing it and their #ECC functionality is exclusive to the highest-end #Quadro, #Tesla & #nVidiaGrid cards, usually implemented only in #Software, thus sacrificing ~ 20% of VRAM.
I'm not surprised of this at all, only that it took so long surprises me...
Are you familiar with the term, #Prosumers ?
It's when someone both consumes and produces a product and is particularly apt for #solar owners. #Batteries are making it even more lucrative for these early adopters.
Look at the credit this Texas homeowner got for providing power when the grid operator wanted it as opposed to just when sun is shining.

Yeah, something like that is what I was thinking (haven't fully developed nor will I ever since no one's paying me to nor would it make a difference) and the policy could only apply to sales after the new law was passed also imo.
Anyways, the new opportunities for #Prosumers in the energy sector are quite exciting for #BTM production and storage, for example the results that Tesla Energy are having in Texas this summer are going to make a diff. https://www.thecooldown.com/green-home/tesla-electric-powerwall-solar-wind-texas/
Inspiring weekend #longread: Power to the people: the neighbours turning their London street into a #solar power station | Anna Fielding https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/dec/18/power-to-the-people-the-neighbours-turning-their-london-street-into-a-solar-power-station
Beyond their traditional role of consumers, more and more citizens are becoming ‘energy #prosumers’, who both consume and produce energy.

Energy communities bring together citizens to take joint action to produce local, clean energy, and contribute to increasing social acceptance and investments linked to local energy projects, which benefit communities both at societal and economical level.
Monday was #WorldCitiesDay - our new report looks at opportunities in #Europe’s #cities for citizens to produce #renewableenergy as #prosumers: https://www.eea.europa.eu/highlights/cities-can-offer-new-opportunities

Europe’s urban centres offer opportunities for citizens to produce renewable energy as prosumers according to a European Environment Agency (EEA) briefing, published today. Cities can play a key role in Europe’s shift to a low-carbon future. Facilitating urban prosumption can help accelerate this process.
