Westerners reserve worship/prostration for G-d & merely respect/salute human beings, because of prohibitions against idolatry. But, Asians often use the same word for both worship & respect (eg, vaengdima වැඳීම in Sinhala), & bow to the ground before both G-d(s) & humans.
