Wasted Gifts?

This verse, and the song C’est Normal, by Brigitte Fontaine, which is sadly hilarious, are my favorite illustrations (aside from the scene in the series Sherlock: “How dare you waste your gifts! How dare you throw away the beautiful gifts you were born with.” -thank you, Molly…), of the reason that it is so important to build community that has a sense of purpose, structure, and self-discipline, rather than mere hedonism. How much more could we accomplish if we used the resources being spent on intoxicating substances to help others in need of basic food, clothing, and transportation?

The Project Do Better manifesto/manual is still available to anyone wishing to edit it for your community, freely as always, and in pdf or ePub format, also free, of course, and the editable as a document, upon request:

  as a 212 pg. PDF here on WP, 

or as an epub from The Archive, but copies will no longer be available at the various bookstores because Draft2Digital is now charging a fee for those publications which are free, and so earlier listings there may disappear, but the book is always available here, and always free of charge.

All of your points are correct, and we are in the process of collapse, this is true, and individually, there may not be much you or I can do in terms of moving any needles all by ourselves, apart from refusing to be scammed, as you point out. But there are also things that could change this situation almost entirely if entire communities of us resolved to come together. That is why I listed four phases, of 15 or so years each, that communities could plan
