After spending around $30,000 to $40,000 on private health insurance over many years I have given it up.
No point wasting good money on junk insurance.

Private insurance is predicated on the idea that you'll probably never use it, i.e., your house won't burn down. Private health insurance doesn't work because nearly everyone will use their health insurance.
The following is a non-expert, personal opinion.
If I'm going into a Neurological ward, I will try to get into a room shared with as many other patients as possible, especially if I'm at risk of #FallsFromBed.
A public hospital may try and push me towards using any applicible #PrivateHealthInsurance and then try to "upgrade" me to a private room - then I will not be seen by as many people if I begin to fall from bed.
Not sure if private hospitals have the shared option
Ever wonder what's been going on with #privatehealthinsurance ? It's even more sinister than we realized. Denials of claims through AI. Their CEOs make tons of money off of denying life-saving care.

#Healthscope is taking a stand by terminating contracts with private insurers #Bupa and Australian Health Services Alliance. With rising costs and private hospital closures, it's unacceptable for insurers to neglect their core purpose: funding care for their members. This is especially troubling when companies like Bupa are reporting record profits. It's time for accountability! #HealthCare #PrivateHealthInsurance #medicare
