yesterday was #practicethursday so here's some watching KNOWER on youtube / practicing I did.
What am I working on? Postural issues as I have some chronic right shoulder pain that's triggered by drumming.
Didnt get to practice much today but did a lot yesterday, and this one came out better than usual, so for #practicethursday this is a cover of Joey Defrancesco's version of Malafemmena w/ the incredible Joe Ascione doing this awesome inverted-funk-samba thing, on their album "Goodfellas", all Italian-American classics with amazing drumming. Order the chicken parmigiana
Another #PracticeThursday, another take on the same song...
It's still missing thousands big and little touches, but I slowly feel more confident at least at the basic backbeat. It's fun! Yes, I can do this over and over. And I will.

I wasn't able to get a good enough one-hand straight 16th note on the hihat going so as you can see I cheated by doing a sticking pattern. probably doesn't sound as good w/o the music backing me up. also my foot failed me on an accent near the end.
I think I'm going to go to the Jeff Porcaro version and work on very straight one-handed 16ths.
@lucia :) ... the plan is to give him a bit more different phrases, but there wasn't any time for that yet... Just finished my today's session too... :) Now I see - you are playing with your signature drumsticks, that must be much better! It's #PracticeThursday everyone!
