@thistimeforsure In a green economy, we’ll still need a mix of electrons and molecules for our energy needs. That is, if we want to keep using cement, steel, fertilizer and keep flying on intercontinental flights. To make those molecules, starting from splitting water is probably not a bad idea. It’s abundant, non-toxic, easy to transport and store. But #Hydrogen has downsides, as you mention. That’s why upgrading it to Ammonia, Methanol, Formic acid becomes convenient.
