Die neue Platte von #AdamAngst heisst 'Twist' und ist eine gute Mischung durch die Genres.

"»Könige mögen von Gott ernannt sein, aber auch sie machen die Fehler einfacher Leute.« Der Satz aus der Hau-drauf-Mittelalter-Klamotte »Medieval« (2022) stimmt gut ein. Dann donnert die Doppelfußmaschine des Schlagzeugs mit grob geschätzten 500 Schlägen in der Minute los. Das obligatorische filmische Eingangszitat und ein Schlagzeug, das mit der Präzision einer Nähmaschine hämmert – es sind die Markenzeichen der Death-Metal-Band #Kataklysm aus dem kanadischen #Montréal. Da wundert es nicht, dass sie in den drei Jahrzehnten ihres Bestehens nicht weniger als fünf Schlagzeuger verschlissen hat. Manche wurden nach einem Jahr ausgewechselt, James Payne sitzt nun schon im dritten Jahr auf dem Hocker. Man muss sich vor Ohren führen, was ein Trommler in dieser Band leisten muss, wenn er selbst auf der Snare Drum Sechzehntel hämmert. Das Schlagwerk ist die Sturmflut, auf der die schweren Gitarren und die growlende Stimme Maurizio #Iaconos gen #Walhalla surfen. (...)"
