Probably in no part of the world can such extraordinary tree growth be shown with Pinis Insignus [i.e. insignis = P. radiata] trees as in New Zealand … Mr. T. Hunt, on his property … near Wakefield, recently felled fifteen lar[g]e trees.… Mr. Herbert Hunt, on the adjoining farm, felled several twenty-year-old trees … netted their owner over £5 per tree.

Plantation forests have a similar acidity compared to native forests and a similar water use profile.

High flow streams through pasture are what's unnatural and unhealthy here.
