Some things between men and women don't change easily or rapidly. Art demands that each viewer construct their own interpretation, but mine is that his obvious pleasure and delight in whatever he's been doing to her nipples is not well matched with her level of annoyance. The artwork dates to 1937 but I know I'm not the only 21st-century man to have earned that look:
