I’m reading this morning that Uber has had a new, innovative and frankly devastatingly brilliant and original idea for extending their ride sharing business. https://techcrunch.com/2025/05/14/uber-to-introduce-fixed-route-shuttles-in-major-us-cities-other-ways-to-save/

Unfortunately it won’t work with cars, they’re too small. So let’s stretch the car to get more seats in. And to keep the weight and cost down we’ll remove all the doors except one at the front. Of course this means we’ll need a gap in each row of seats to make it easier for ride sharers to get to an empty seat once they’ve got on.

"Peak Stupid" - I wrote this piece, "Password Gropers Take the Spamtrap Bait" (https://nxdomain.no/~peter/password_gropers_take_the_spamtrap_bait.html or with G's trackers https://bsdly.blogspot.com/2014/08/password-gropers-take-spamtrap-bait.html) a little more than 10 years ago.

Mid-Sep 2024 I generated a block of spamtraps on the pattern "[email protected]" because that subdomain part sounded like fun, and lo and behold, those local parts started turning up on pop3 on Nov 10 (your curiosity satsified https://nxdomain.no/~peter/202411_popflooders.txt).

After years of climbing mount paranoia, #Humblebundle has finally reached #peakstupid:
They're now asking for a SMS verification after each and every purchase… but are only sending out max 3 SMS per day 🤦‍♂️
Want to quickly grab those bundles that are running out tonight? Sorry, you're out of luck, try again tomorrow!

exactly 2 months until my 65th birthday. (that’s right, I was born on the Ides of June.)

for the longest time in grade school we’d start summer vacation around the end of May. so I always thought of myself a summer baby. even after I grasped when the seasons changed the summer baby fallacy stayed firmly rooted in my head.

it took until high school before I’d finally gotten over it.

Thanks for sharing,

The ad uses the phrase "#peakPerformance" — we were thinking more "#peakStupid".

There's something that already exists and works fine and that's called #compressionWear. :)
